Marissa Oskarsen, President and CEO of The Printed Circuit Girls and Geeks, aka E-TEC Sales L.L.C., announced today that her company is releasing a brand new series of articles titled “What’s Your PCB IQ?” Formatted as quizzes, the pieces begin by asking the readers multiple choice and True-or-False questions on Printed Circuit Board fabrication and assembly. The answers provide industry insight with a witty twist by combining technical knowledge, common sense and Marissa’s Texas-sized sense of humor. Quiz scores – or “PCB IQs” - are then rated on the Geek Scale. The quizzes are co-authored by Marissa and assembly industry expert Chrys Shea.
“Each article begins with 10 new questions on a PCB-related subject. Don’t be surprised if you fail! Whoever said multiple choice is easy, was way, way, wrong!” said Oskarsen.
“I really like the Pop Quiz format - it gives us the opportunity have some fun with otherwise dry technical subject matter. Learning and laughing do not have to be mutually exclusive; in fact, they’re a great combination.” adds Shea.
The PCB IQ articles reveal trade secrets, discuss standard practices, offer DFM guidance and provide other clues to understanding the industry. They are designed to help readers communicate with the PCB world like a seasoned geek, or at the very least impress or annoy colleagues with their new found knowledge.
The first pop quiz will be published in January and they will continue every other month throughout 2011. Planned topics include The BETTER Way to Approve a PCB Supplier, The Smoking Gun Behind PCB Pricing, The Impact of Changes to Industry Standards, Improving Traceability.
